We all know that toppling furniture can be a serious safety hazard for children; bookcases make tempting climbing frames, while smaller children and babies love leaning on things or pulling themselves up on chests of drawers. But our safety straps tether the furniture to the wall so that it won't tip over onto them; we recommend that all storage furniture & bookcases over 60cm high should be tethered with them to prevent accidents.
The kit includes two brackets (screws included) for the furniture piece, and two brackets for the wall (screws not included); please use suitable screws and fixings for the walls in your home. It also includes two strong, adjustable cable ties (which can be released and re-secured if you need to move the furniture), plus instructions and guidance notes.
All current GLTC furniture has pre-drilled pilot holes to help you fit the brackets; if you're fitting the kit to a piece of furniture that isn't from GLTC, or to one of our older pieces you may need to make pilot holes in the furniture to prevent damage/splitting to the unit.
