If you're a GLTC customer, you may have had something new and exciting pushed through your letterbox at the weekend ... our latest catalogue! It's packed full of ingenious storage solutions and hints and tips for sprucing up your home in time for spring.
We won't spoil the surprise for you if you haven't had chance to flick though it yet - there are some fantastic new storage items which we think you're going to love - but here's a handful of highlights.
Welcome to a tidier, happier home!
SQUARE IT AWAY
You'll always find a home for our versatile Abbeville cube storage range. Not just designed with children's rooms in mind, it comes in three classic colours and a whole range of different sizes and designs meaning that you're sure to find the perfect piece for ANY and EVERY room in the house.
The tall eight cube unit is slimline enough to slot seamlessly in to small spaces, perhaps in the corner of a kitchen or on the landing. Use it to display favourite accessories, hold books, or even to show off a plant or two.
For a hallway, how about our new small shelf in a subtle cloud grey colour? It's such a neat size with room for two baskets to hide gloves, scarves and school shoes. Bags and homework books can be popped on the shelf leaving space for mail, coins and keys on the top.
IT ALL STACKS UP
New for 2019, is the Barbican stacking storage range. It's an ideal option if you need toy storage but don't want it to take over the room. Put it in the corner of your living room next to your sofa or perhaps at the end of a bed in children's rooms. Choose a large storage box for the bottom, add two matching smaller storage boxes and then put a tray on top - if you place them next to your child's bed, the tray is a great size for a drink, a book and a night light so could be an option instead of a bedside table.
Need something a bit bigger for the hallway or perhaps to act as a mobile boot room? You'll be hard pushed to find a more perfect product than our stacking storage trunks. They can be stacked two high and are brilliant for bulkier items. Toys, games kits, footballs, they're incredibly roomy and easy for kids to access. No more abandoning shoes on the floor!
And then there's the Rackham storage range. Pick and choose from three separate pieces to create a storage unit that can be used pretty much anywhere. While it's ideal for keeping toys tidy, it couldn't be more perfect for a bathroom - toiletries, toilet rolls and bath toys all neatly stored away.
THE SMALL STUFF
Sometimes, you just don't want or need additional toy storage sitting in your living room or taking up space in your kitchen. Something small and simple just to keep the tiny toys at bay is enough. Yes, our canvas storage cubes and rope storage baskets are designed to fit with (or on) our larger storage ranges but they make great standalone storage solutions too. They come in so many different colours and designs that you're sure to find one that matches or complements your decor.
THINK OUTSIDE THE TOY BOX
While our traditional toy boxes continue to be extremely popular, we understand that every home is different and every family unique. That's why we also think outside of the box and design toy storage in all shapes and sizes.
Take a look at the beautiful townhouse bookcase, for example. It's such a fun design but keeps toys and books tidy and accessible, too. It could even double up as a doll or superhero house.
And then there's the Gulliver toy organiser, a toy box and book shelf in one. It sits low to the ground making it ideal for younger children to pull out and put away what they want to play with. And with room for two storage cubes or baskets, it offers the opportunity to quickly tidy up and hide away small toys or craft materials. Genius, right?
A NEW CHAPTER
Need more book storage? GLTC has such a wide range of storage designed to keep books off the floor but easy to find. A trusty favourite, and one recommended by national children’s reading charity, Beanstalk, is the Potter library table. It's at a great height for children to be able to flick through and choose a book by themselves - a great way of encouraging a love of reading.
And then there's the brand new Star book ledges in a whole host of beautiful colours. Choose from white, grey, navy, shell pink and willow green. Due to the front facing design, they're a really nice way of keeping books and accessories close at hand and easy to find. Why not group them together for maximum impact?
BEDROOMS, SORTED!
Finally, shall we talk about sturdy storage and furniture designed specifically for children's bedrooms? The Tate mid sleeper bed and accompanying desk and storage is a space-saving masterpiece. The bed can be bought separately making it a great option for younger children who need more floor space to play on. However, when they get a little older and need additional storage and a desk, the cupboard, chest of drawers and pull-out desk slot in the space underneath. It comes in ivory or ivory and grey. Which would you choose?
