As we're just days away from 1st December, we thought we'd share some of the GLTC team's favourite ideas for an alternative advent calendar. We all love a calendar that contains chocolates. Who doesn't? But if you'd like to do something a little bit different for your child this year, we have thirty different ways of marking the very special countdown to Christmas Day.
COUNT DOWN TO CHRISTMAS DAY
Why thirty when there's only 24 days to count down?
Well, some of the ideas may not work for everyone or might not be suitable for the age of your child. We've added an extra six to give you a choice of activities to pick and choose from.
We've also created some fun sheets for you to print out featuring all 30 ideas looking fabulously festive. Simply right click to save each sheet and they're perfectly formatted for you to print off in A4. There are six per page for you to cut out and fold up to go behind each little door of your advent calendar.
BEST WOODEN ADVENT CALENDARS
If you haven't chosen a calendar yet, have a look at our Woodland Christmas Advent Calendar. Our lovely, red calendar featuring Father Christmas and friends is as much a family heirloom as a pretty decoration for your fireplace or window sill. Bring it out year after year to pop notes or little treats behind the doors. There's also a little message behind each one telling you how many days are left until Christmas.
Don't just take our word for how wonderful it is. It's also been recommended by IndyBest, the Evening Standard and House Beautiful as one of their Best Wooden Advent Calendars.
