The instructions were better again (although the diagrams could still be clearer), perhaps they have been revised in response to feedback which is good.
Easy to assemble
The screws are too long and when the magnet backs are attached dimples can be seen on the front of the cupboard. Very disappointed.
GLTC's Reply - Please accept our sincerest apologies for the difficulty you experienced with this order. Although we gave you a conservative estimate of a week for a replacement, we are happy to see that the replacement was delivered to you within 2 days. We hope that despite these difficulties you are happy with your new northcore furniture and that you get many years of use from them.
With our apologies
Nice piece of furniture which we purchased along with two other pieces from this range along with some canvas storage cubes. Looks great in our sons room not too babyish and should hopefully last a few years. My only grumble was a little expensive for what it actually is but, after searching for months for this kind of unit we bit the bullet and ordered it and glad we did.
The screws to attach the magnets are too long and have split the cupboard door.
GLTC's Reply - We are very sorry to hear about the difficulty with the screws. We will be in touch to arrange a replacement.
The screws to attach the magnetic strip to the door were fractional too long so they've cracked the painted surface of the door and made a bump. The metal posts that the internal shelves rest on are too big for the holes. We had to hammer them in so now the shelves won't be adjustable as we'll never get the posts out! Also, terrible instructions.
GLTC's Reply - We are very sorry to hear about the difficulties with the installation of the cupboard. We will be in touch to see what we can do to help. We are currently re-doing the assembly instructions in light of yours and other similar feedback.
Easy to put together, great quality and so practical. Perfect.
The screws that were supplied to fit the metal plates to the rear of the doors are too long, as a result the screws are now pushing through the paint on the front of the doors. This looks extremely unsightly and I am considering not using the cupboard at all.
GLTC's Reply - We're so sorry to hear about the difficulty with the screws. We will be in touch to try to help.
Firstly, very difficult to put together...
Not of as good quality as I thought originally.
And worst of all smells of paint! That is not very healthy?!
GLTC's Reply - We're very sorry to hear that you aren't completely delighted with the Northcote unit. Our advice is to air the room with the unit in for a few days and the paint odour will quickly disappear. Please be assured that the paint is completely non-toxic and is tested to British Standards.
We hope you find this information useful but of course we will honour our no quibble guarantee if you wished to return the unit for a replacement item or refund.
Very good quality. Sturdy. Good instructions for assembly.
the quality was masked, it looks good but because layers have been glued together and then painted as soon as you start to assemble the layers split along the paint lines so actually the assembled product is damaged with no way of avoiding this
