You may remember our recent campaign to raise money for our wonderful chosen charities, the Bobath Centre for children with Cerebral Palsy and CHASE hospice care for children. Well we’re absolutely thrilled to tell you that, with your help, we managed to raise over £10,000! A big thank you to all of you who supported this campaign, you helped make it a real success.
On 6th July 2008 a team of 30 runners, comprised of staff members, friends and colleagues ran in the British 10k London run, raising over £5,000 for Archie's Little Lion Fund.
If you don’t know what it’s all about please read on:
Archie's Little Lion Fund has been set up in memory of Archie, a special little boy who tragically experienced extreme oxygen deprivation at birth and as a result had severe quadriplegic cerebral palsy and many other complex medical needs. He was very close to our hearts here at GLTC because he was the much loved son of our senior buyer Katie, and her husband Mark. Sadly, after a happy but difficult life Archie passed away earlier this year, aged 20 months.
Despite his enormous challenges Archie, Katie and Mark managed to enjoy their life together and were helped enormously by two wonderful charities, The Bobath Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy and CHASE hospice care for children. Great Little Trading Company have adopted these two charities and we intend to raise as much money as possible to help them support other children like Archie, and other parents like Katie and Mark.
Why 'Little Lion'? Archie was a lovely little boy who, because of his roaring shouts and enduring bravery, his mum and dad called "our little lion".
